Torrevieja is a lovely coastal town situated on the Costa Blanca, approximately 30 minutes south of Alicante Airport and some 20 minutes north of Murcia Airport. Torrevieja is very easily accessed from the A7 motorway which runs parallel with the town.
Because Torrevieja is an old fishing town, with its own harbour and small fishing fleet. It is not a “resort” in the true sense of the word and does not cater for the package holiday industry – those activities take place much further to the north. The shops, bars and restaurants of the town are open all year round, to cater for a population which is either resident in the area, or enjoying a stay in a holiday home owned by themselves or relatives.
